Costa Rica is a beautiful country that is home to the largest number of national parks, rainforests, and protected areas in the world. Our annual National Parks Day celebrates these areas and recognizes the dedication of the local residents who wish to preserve Costa Rica’s parks, forests, and protected lands.
The holiday is observed each year on August 24. Admission to practically all Costa Rica parks is free on National Parks Day and there are many family-oriented events that are held all throughout the country.
About Manuel Antonio National Park
Manuel Antonio National Park, where Manuel Antonio Rentals is located, is one of the most visited locations in Costa Rica. The canopies are filled with three of our four types of playful monkeys: the capuchin, squirrel, and howler monkeys.
There are more than 100 different mammal species living in this 1,700 acre park. Visitors can admire and enjoy the scenery as they walk along the park’s trails that lead past mangrove swamps and marshy woodlands. The park is also home to three beaches, Playa Espadilla Sur, Manuel Antonio Beach, and Playa Gemelas.
Activities at Manuel Antonio National Park that may be enjoyed on National Parks Day and any other day of the year include bird and wildlife watching, swimming at the beach, and hiking the trails. The park also offers picnic tables, showers, water fountains, and restroom facilities.
